A new still cut straight from the set of Kim Hyun Joong‘s upcoming drama, ‘City Conquest‘, has left netizens impressed with his charismatic transformation!

Covered in just enough dirt to leave his handsome features in full view, Kim Hyun Joong is seen pinning an enemy to the ground using his entire body. The picture not only demonstrates the level of action required of him in the drama, but also his determination to perfect his role, which staff noticed and sent applause his way for being willing to get down and dirty to complete the scene.

Kim Hyun Joong has been attending action school to better prepare himself for his role as ‘Baek Mir’. This combined with intense training and dieting has reportedly lowered his body fat percentage to 7%.

City Conquest casts now are in full swing and getting serious for their roles. First an article emerged saying Kim Hyun Joong (Baek Mir) will now refrain his singing career for awhile to give more time being an actor particularly for his role in this drama and now Choi Cheol Ho just gave up his role from KBS 1TV drama 'The Great King's Dream' and will be replaced by Lee Jin Woo to focus more on his role in City Conquest as Cha Seong Kwang's (Kim Young Ho) subordinate. 

Thanks to @howlovelylala for clearing this up as I got a little confused when I read the articles regarding this one. At first I thought Lee Jin Woo will replace Choi Cheol Ho in City Conquest but I was wrong, it's Choi Cheol Ho who got replaced by Lee Jin Woo in the drama 'The Great King's Dream' instead. Due to drama 'City Conquest' Kim Hyun Joong now will refrain from doing activities as a singer. Singer cum actor Kim Hyun Joong is now determined more than ever and has his all passion for acting. Because of his third starring drama 'City Conquest', all of his activity (as a singer) other than shooting is now postponed.   Kim Hyun Joong started acting through 2009 drama 'Boys Over Flowers' where it received excellent reviews while in his 2010 drama 'Playful Kiss' where it received poor reviews compared to his previous one. Now on this new drama 'City Conquest', Kim Hyun Joong is now ready to get his reputation back as an actor. Acting in his first action challenges him in full swing and now currently shooting while spending his day in action school. The team began shooting last July in Japan, finishes last September and now started filming in domestic places (Korea) then will continue to start shooting in Southeast Asian countries. Other than his schedule as an actor, Kim Hyun Joong is planning to rest as a singer as much as possible until next year.   Due to his driven passion a price of 11.8 billion won was already earned for the drama and will continue to shoot after Japan to southeast asian countries such as China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In addition, 'City Conquest'  will air in KBS 2TV and in Japan cable channel DATV afterwards. Prior to this, Kim Hyun Joong already held events Japan and will start promoting the drama on January in places such as Kobe and Saitama.

Here's the drama line up for 2013. This is not in order. Dramas might be in KBS1 or KBS2 or other KBS channels. Tentative means no specific date yet but confirmed to broadcast in KBS. This is just to give you ideas about the drama line up. If this could be the correct order then we might expect City Conquest to air sometime around March-April 2013

Drama 'City Conquest' starring Kim Hyun Joong and Jung Yoo Mi to air in KBS2TV has been finalized.
During a telephone interview from bntNews on 10/5 (today) City Conquest directed by Yang Yoon Ho and written by Hwang Joo Ha said "KBS2TV has finally confirmed".

Drama 'City Conquest' derived from the popular manhwa with the same name written by Shin Hyung Bin that already sold million copies. The manwha will be reborn as a drama series on the first half of 2013.

Kim Hyun Joong recently commemorated the recent one year anniversary of his Japanese fan club, Henecia Japan, in a very big way.

On October 4 at the Budokan, Kim Hyun Joong held a special memorial event for his City Conquest drama for his Henecia Japan fan members.

Appearing on stage before thousands, Kim Hyun Joong expressed his gratitude saying, “I’m happy I’m able to stand on the Budokan, which all artists aspire to stand on. It’s not just the 1 year anniversary [of the fan club] but the 100 year anniversary I want to congratulate too.”

He added, “To achieve that, we must think of each other and I will continue to make good music and acting while everyone should eat good food and medicine to be healthy.”

Kim Hyun Joong was later joined on stage by City Conquest co-star, Jung Yu Mi and director Yang Yoon Ho who introduced the drama, shared stories from behind the scenes and showed an introductory video.

Regarding working with the singer and actor, director Yang Yoon Ho shared, “I thought he was a handsome actor but after meeting him, I was surprised by his masculinity and toughness. But when we drink together he is humorous and has a cute aspect of him which made me even more surprised.”

“The lead character, Mir, takes care of societal issues in an independent manner but comes to find love during the same process, which has been the main focus of my shooting,” the director added.

When asked if Kim Hyun Joong felt any similarities in real life with his Baek Miru character, the actor responded, “I don’t know if you all will believe me or not but [I too] also put my life on the line when it comes to the person I love.”

After a jawbreaking event yesterday where Kim Hyun Joong and Jung Yoo Mi went to Japan for the promotion of their drama, we got to see sneak peak of the drama where we saw Baek Mir warming up topless showing his great perfect body. I'm sure Kim Hyun Joong fans were all shocked to see him like that. Me myself was shocked. I couldn't help but swoon over his body and dang! Have you seen his acting? He really improved alot.

On the other hand, another photo still was released and this time it's the lead lady Jung Yoo Mi. The photo tells that Jung Yoo Mi seems to be in trouble. Is she caught by the villains as well? I have a feeling Nam Goong Min is behind this scene.
